I often find myself drawing parallels between the aviation industry and
the future of pharmacovigilance. With the AI disruption coming our way, the supervision
of machines will likely become our main work in pharmacovigilance, similar to
how pilots supervise autopilots today.
During a recent visit to our
HQs for D90 strategy meeting, I invited esteemed members of our iVigee leadership
team, Ken
Nordeen and Patrick
Murray, to experience a sightseeing flight over South Bohemia. It not only
provided breathtaking views but also allowed us to observe and talk about the
rigorous protocols and practices in place to ensure passenger safety.
Three
key takeaways emerged from this experience:
1. The role of automated
systems and the associated paradigm shift in aviation has revolutionised safety
standards and changed the job of all people in the industry. We can expect similar
developments in pharmacovigilance and shall be leading the way with powerful partnerships.
2. The importance of work-life balance was slowly but surely recognised in
the aviation industry, as it directly impacts the performance of flight crews.
At iVigee, our core value of sustainability accents work-life balance very strongly.
3. Stepping outside our usual environment and gaining a fresh perspective
boosts innovation more than anything else. This practice allows us to see many
new opportunities for iVigee. Our core value of innovation is already bringing
fruits in the form of three new digital offerings, all with disruptive potential.
Our
unique culture is what makes us different. We are a team of fearless professionals
enabling innovation in a sustainable manner. We are iVigee.
