Richard Barfield joins iVigee

We are pleased to announce that Richard Barfield has joined our senior team, bringing more than 30 years’ experience as Chief Financial Officer in the healthcare, technology, and business services sectors.

Richard has also held roles as Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and Audit Committee Chairman at several UK and US listed companies. Richard has extensive experience in global companies based in the UK, Europe, and the USA, in both the listed as well as the private equity-backed sectors. His expertise includes high growth businesses, turnarounds, fundraisings, and M&A.

Richard qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and began his career working in senior financial roles at GlaxoSmithKline in London and Paris. He then worked within the technology and telecoms sector including as CFO and Chairman of UK and US listed telecoms, IT services, microprocessor design and consulting businesses. He has also served as a Board member of an NHS Foundation Trust and as Chairman of the UK Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

Richard has over 10 years’ experience specifically within the clinical research services and pharmacovigilance sectors. He joined Chiltern International, a leading global provider of CRO and pharmacovigilance services, as Chief Financial Officer in 2013 and became global CFO of the Covance CRO division of Laboratory Corporation of America when it acquired Chiltern in 2018. He was CFO at UK-listed clinical research and pharmacovigilance services provider Ergomed plc from 2019 to 2023.

Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in modern languages and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
